Face Out

I adore reading out loud to kids of all ages and I’ve done it for over twenty years, in bookstores, school libraries, Sunday school classrooms, in my own home and most recently, online. Here I share some of my favorites by theme. Pull up a carpet square and click on a cover to go to the post, where you can read short synopses from this writer, grandmother, empty nester, former bookseller, pickle baller, queso dipper, traveler, at-home adventurer, and reader. These are books you’d be proud to put “face out” on your shelf.

My Bookshelf

In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Dumbledore says, “It’s not our abilities that show who we truly are, it’s our choices.” You can tell a lot about a person by the books they choose to buy and put on their shelves. I’ve got books from my childhood, books from over twenty-five years of monthly reads with my book club, and so many others.
